Why Flying Blue for Etihad?
Air France–KLM Flying Blue is a transfer and partner programme that can issue awards on Etihad. On shorter Abu Dhabi–Asia sectors, the mileage required is often dramatically lower than booking the same Etihad seat through other programmes. Pair that with miles bought at the right price, and the total can come in well below the cash fare.
Flying Blue also offers relatively friendly change and cancel terms compared with some programmes — useful given that award space is best booked close to departure.
